Hyundai Motor Company has teased a sketch of the coming 2017 Elantra, and it is causing quite the stir. The popular car model features a sleek new look with a longer nose and more advanced technology. As chief design officer Pete Schreyer notes, "This car indicates a move from traditional to modern styling by communicating the new model’s comfort, fashion, and sporty feel.”

Engineers have tweaked the platform and suspension system in order to improve performance and agility. The dash has also been updated with the company’s new Display Audio touch-screen interface, which is compatible with Google’s Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

This newest incarnation of the Hyundai Elantra will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2015. Then, production of the 2017 model is expected to begin within the United States in early 2016. Hyundai’s design team hopes these updates to the Elantra will keep the company competitive in a market that currently favors SUVs and crossovers.
