Kia GT4 Stinger Concept

The first thing that comes to mind when Kia is mentioned likely isn’t sports cars, but the new GT4 Stinger concept might change that. Designing a concept car for racing isn’t entirely outside the manufacturer’s purview. After all, Kia with Kinetic Motorsports placed second last year in the Manufacturer's Championship of the Pirelli World Challenge and first in 2012’s Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Drivers and Team Championships with the Forte Koup.
The Stinger looks a bit like the Audi R8 from the front with a low-sitting nose and stacked LED lights, but that’s where the similarities end. This concept also features a floating roof, A-pillars that are transparent, and sporty glass hatch. Inside, the GT4 Stinger is quite simple, opting against carpeting for utilitarian rubber floor mats and no stereo. Since Kia isn’t planning to put this concept car in production (for now), it really doesn’t need such unessential luxuries.
Beneath the hood of the Stinger lies a 2.0-L turbocharged engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Although we don’t know just how fast this sports car goes, we suspect it can hold its own with an aerodynamic design, relatively light weight of 2874 lbs, and a weight distribution of 52 percent in the front and 48 percent in the rear.
